What three qualities do you look for in a partner?
Submitted by Tenor BobThere is no way I can sum it up in 3 qualities. There were so many more than 3 that attracted me to my husband. He was nice, smart, honest, cute, great eyes, sweet smile, the potential to be a very good father, potential to be a very good provider, loved me unconditionally and treated me like a princess.
Nope, can't do only three...
I'm looking for a DSLR for the husb for Father's Day. Of course being not very camera savvy I wanted to know if anyone out there had an opinion on one or another...
Thanks in advance for your answers...
What are you most grateful for in your life right now?

My Husband. He has been completely supportive and calm and concerned for the last 2 days while I have melted down.
He is truly my best friend, my sanctuary. I'm so grateful to him...
I noticed that I hadn't written a real entry for a while now. So here is what's happening...
Last week they totaled our van so on Saturday the husb went out and bought a new van. He bought a 2008 Toyota Sienna. It's nice and looks just like our other van so I'm happy. We took the godforsaken rental back. I'm just not the SUV type after having a minivan for the last 3 years.
Lemme see, oh I saw my good friends Glenn and Caryn last Friday! They were here for Vegas for Caryn's 20th reunion. I hadn't seen them in 2 years since they came and took my kats to Vegas to retire. The kats retired, not Glenn and Caryn. SO anyway, they look good and happy! It was so nice to hug them again.
Then yesterday I saw my other good friend C and B. We had gyros and went shopping at Giggle in Walnut Creek. My kid sister was with me. It was so much fun. I like seeing my friends. I miss hanging out and lunching and chatting and what not.
Today was uneventful though. We just went to Fry's to buy an iPod audio cable. Wanna know how much of a big genius I am? Lemme tell you, I went to Radio Snatch and they wanted 13 dollars for the thing. Then I went to the Apple store and they wanted 20 bucks for it. Then yesterday we went to the Fry's website and we found it. FOR 3 SMACKERS! I bought it. I felt like I should have bought like 3 or 4...
I'm ready for dinner now. It's late and we haven't had any food yet. Soup it is.
What makes your best friend so special?

My husband is my best friend.
He knows me completely. He knows what I like and what I don’t like. He knows what I’m thinking and what I’m not thinking. To quote one of my favorite songs, he knows “the shape my breath will take before I let it out”.
He does so much for our family and I know that he is overwhelmed and overworked but he keeps going. I know he feels taken for granted but I appreciate everything that he does to make our lives comfortable and a lot easier than it would be if he were not the person that he is.
He is a good person. A genuinely good person without a single ounce of pretense or ego. He is a good judge of character and is a very fair person. He will admit when he is wrong and he is not afraid to feed the kids, bathe them or be a very wonderful father who is fully and wholly involved in his children’s lives.
Those are the reasons my best friend is special.Yeh, I'm lame and used that line. You betcha!
So things have been pretty good. We didn't do too much today. We just kinda hung out at home then took the kids to an Animal Planet Expo in San Ramon. It was not very toddler friendly. They were pretty much too small for everything. Then we just took them to a small park to get them exercised and tired out.
Yesterday was a day that we spent at the ILs. Good night. We had Indian food. Do you know how long I have been craving chicken tikka masala? A long time.
I finished reading the book club book already. It was pretty good finally! It took me about 100 pages in to really get into the book. I think I was distracted while reading it. It was This Book Will Save Your Life by A.M Homes. Good stuff. I also started a new book today. Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen. So far so good.
Anything else, no I don't think so. That's pretty much all.
I am feeling a bit better now. I have some food and some caffeine in my system. YAY for stuff!
I am going to start reading The Memory Keeper's Daughter today. I was going to start it last night but it got too late. So here I am, anxious to read it. I have heard good things about it.
My kiddos wanted hot dogs for breakfast. We have the better than regular dogs from Trader Joe's so I decided why the heck not, it's like sausage, kinda. They are so adorable, just not that cute when they want to wake up at 545am. I convinced them to go back to sleep though.
Twitter was acting a fool last night. The husb was telling me something about Ruby On Rails or something, I don't know, I am pretty duh when he starts talking technology. But I like the name. It's like Lucy In the Stars, yeh yeh. But my secret wish is that I knew how to program like him. I think we would have fun being a husb and wife team coding and doing stuff.
So has anyone ever heard of or is a member of the American Association of University Women? Yesterday at book club there were like 2 women from that group. I googled them and I found out that they have a book club. Interesting reading too.
My book store didn't have next months book for my book club so I bought two other books that I wanted to read. I will go back on Tuesday and pick up the A M Homes book. Carrie Brown is going to be at the bookstore on Monday. Everyone in the book club had just read her book, The Rope Walk and were talking about how great it was. It's only on hardcover though, I'm cheap and don't want to shell out the cash. I missed Michael Chabon at Rakestraw too. Everyone in book club LOVES and SWOONS over Michael Chabon. I feel kinda dorky because I just didn't like his latest book that much.
What time is your alarm clock set for? Do you use the snooze button?
I have never used an alarm clock. I have a terrific internal clock. I really do. I always told my husband that my body just naturally woke up for work at exactly 530am. I just knew what time it was and I woke up. He was like, that's weird.
So one morning he was awake for some reason and he watched the clock. It was almost time for me to wake up so he decided to test me. The clock turned 530am and my eyes opened up. He just laughed at me and of course I believe he was completely impressed!
Seriously, I have given the husb everything a wife could give a husb. iPods, cameras, books, a scrapbook, a watch, etc.
So I am at a loss, again. I don't know what to get him for Father's Day.
Any ideas?
Father's Day is still very difficult for me to celebrate because some of you may know that I am a fatherless daughter. But I want to honor my husb who is a tremendous father to our children. I couldn't have married a more perfect man.
Show us what you hold in your hands the most every day.

Does it count that they all have me wrapped around their fingers?
