Well, I have been awfully busy and I am really missing VOX right now.
Well, I got a consulting gig in late December. Something that was only going to be like 3 days turned into something that's going to be like 3 months with a possibility of extensions. OY MY VEY! I haven't really worked in 3 years so it's weird! I go to meetings and community forums, I have to get dressed in clothes that are kinda nice. It's kinda cool so far but I miss my kids when I'm gone.
What else, been busy with the kids and their karate and dance classes, play dates and the twins club newsletter plus my book club. I'm doing too much!
So I miss y'all...
I have told my children "No!" more times this morning that usual. It's getting old.
The new year has started and we're going to try to make it a better year than last. I wanted to blog about it yesterday but it didn't happen. Things have been a little whirlwind lately. I've been doing a side project and then was Christmas. Nevermind my birthday and visiting with friends, it's been good though. I'm glad that things are finally getting back to normal and I am ready for everyone to go back to work and let me go shopping for myself with my gift cards! I have friends who were saying how much they hate the summer and the holidays because people are off and stay at home moms can't go out without there being a crowd. This is true though. I don't hate anything though.
I just ratted out some high schoolers that were drinking in front of my house last night. I felt a wee bit bad but hey, they left all their beer cans on the sidewalk and bb gun cartridges and what not. I'm tired of the disrespect these kids have. Drink all you want, kill yourself while you drink and drive but DO NOT do it where I can see you and DO NOT leave your trash for me to pick up. I took it to his mom. He's an idiot. He knows we know where he lives.
That's pretty much for the morning. Let's see what kind of trouble we can get into...
This week went by pretty fast. I'm about 4 days behind in my paper journal and only one day behind here. I haven't really written. I wish I had. I can't believe that Thanksgiving will be in 2 weeks. It can't be coming upon us that quickly.
Yesterday I had a kinda busy day but not busy in the sense that I didn't have time to do anything. I had time, I was just at places. I went to Kaiser to get my blood drawn and then I went to the mall to look for some girl stuff. Came towards home, decided to go to the bookstore. I bought the next book for book club, it's What is the What by Dave Eggers. I already finished November's book. It was hysterical. It was the Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid by Bill Bryson. That man is hilarious. I looked for some thanksgiving books for the kids but didn't find any, went to Bay Books and didn't find anything so I went to a big box book store and found 3 books they would like. Then I came home and I messed about a bit.
Got my test results back today, prognosis negative. Which is good in one sense and bad in another.
I think that every little thing is gonna be alright...
I know what I'm doing. I'm going to Kaiser. Then I'm going to write. I have time because my MIL will be here to care for the kids. YAY!
Today wasn't much. I went to workout which was nice. And then I went to Target and Safeway. Then I went to take a birthday present over to my friend's house. It was a good night. We took a walk around our circle. I got LOTS of exercise today.
Yes, nothing has changed. :)
So today was a good day. I went and bought my Christmas cards at Hallmark because it was open house and I got a free gift and what not. I love buying greeting cards.
Did a little bit of writing for nanowrimo but not nearly enough to put me where I'm suppose to be. I hope to finish but I'm not sure I will. Oh well, that's how it goes...
Went to the ILs house today. My MIL made chicken today and it was so good. I love her chicken. Came home late but I know that the time change is going to mess with the kids sleep schedule so I should be asleep already but I'm not. Why do I like to punish myself so...
I noticed that I hadn't written a real entry for a while now. So here is what's happening...
Last week they totaled our van so on Saturday the husb went out and bought a new van. He bought a 2008 Toyota Sienna. It's nice and looks just like our other van so I'm happy. We took the godforsaken rental back. I'm just not the SUV type after having a minivan for the last 3 years.
Lemme see, oh I saw my good friends Glenn and Caryn last Friday! They were here for Vegas for Caryn's 20th reunion. I hadn't seen them in 2 years since they came and took my kats to Vegas to retire. The kats retired, not Glenn and Caryn. SO anyway, they look good and happy! It was so nice to hug them again.
Then yesterday I saw my other good friend C and B. We had gyros and went shopping at Giggle in Walnut Creek. My kid sister was with me. It was so much fun. I like seeing my friends. I miss hanging out and lunching and chatting and what not.
Today was uneventful though. We just went to Fry's to buy an iPod audio cable. Wanna know how much of a big genius I am? Lemme tell you, I went to Radio Snatch and they wanted 13 dollars for the thing. Then I went to the Apple store and they wanted 20 bucks for it. Then yesterday we went to the Fry's website and we found it. FOR 3 SMACKERS! I bought it. I felt like I should have bought like 3 or 4...
I'm ready for dinner now. It's late and we haven't had any food yet. Soup it is.
There has been so much going on lately I haven't had the time to blog it all. There were QotD's and Vox Hunts i wanted to do but didn't have a chance to do. Oy...
SO, last Monday my kid sister arrived in the bay area. We hung out and then we started getting everything ready for the kiddos birthday party. I had so much shopping to do that we just barely had enough time to put it all together. Saturday was the party and it went off without a hitch! It was a great party. Everyone had fun and we even had a pinata which was obliterated within seconds. A good time was had by all.
Sunday we went to Target in Dublin to spend the kids gift cards. We had fun there too. The kids were able to pick up some cool things. It was great. Then on the way home my minivan was rear-ended as we were stopped behind a car that was stopped for a squirrel. Yes, an effin' squirrel. The SUV behind me stopped, the car behind her did not. He hit her and pushed her into me. There was still a huge impact. It was awful. My babies (not babies anymore) were fine, shaken up a bit but not hurt, my sister and I got some rowdy headaches and neck aches but we were otherwise unscathed. The van looked awful. We took it to the shop on Monday and we have been working with the dang insurance companies to find out if we were entitled to a rental. We just found out that we are so we will be picking it up today.
It has been a crazy few days. I am ready your entries just haven't had time to comment...
that all my entries lately have been question of the day or vox hunt. I need some real content!
Not much going on. The usual... we wake up, we eat, we play, we learn something, we go for a walk, we take a nap, lunch, max and ruby, play some more, etc... That's how our days roll. It's fairly uncomplicated. ha!
The kids have been enjoying their classes. They are taking a gymnastics class and a dance class. Kate LOVES her dance class. The teacher told me that she's ready for the next step which is a basic ballet and tap class. She is going to need tap shoes. How cute will that be? In the Fall the kids are going to take Karate. That is going to be even cuter! I can't wait. I'm so excited that they are going to be really active. It's a good thing.
Their birthday is coming up and I have been planning their little party. It's going to be at the ILs house in P-Town. My sister will be coming back to the bay for fun and helping. That's a good thing and then I think that we are going to go to San Antonio. It will be a good thing. I can't wait. We are also thinking about going to Disney Land during the fall as well.
Wow! See there's a lot going on but not earth shattering... But that's a good thing.
Today is a good day. I haven't really been doing too too much lately. I also haven't been writing int he VOXer and for that I am sorry. I should blog more but things just have been coming up.
I'm in the process of cleaning my office. There is so much stuff that is not office related it's not even funny. I have been working on it off and on for about a week. There isn't really much I can do with the twinkles around though.
I have been having weird dreams lately too. Airplane crashes, my high school burning down, me sitting next to Andy Gibb in my new adult class (hubba hubba) and then my aunt's ex-girlfriend's son singing a song to my dead father about how he loved and missed him and that he was his cousin. HUH?!
The kids finished up their gymnastics class yesterday but I enrolled them for the 2nd class. They like gymnastics. Now dance class is a totally different thing!. Kate LOVES dance class and Jake HATES dance class. He loves to dance at home so one would think... i dunno...
I missed my neighborhood yesterday. The outage was terrible.
Yeh, I'm lame and used that line. You betcha!
So things have been pretty good. We didn't do too much today. We just kinda hung out at home then took the kids to an Animal Planet Expo in San Ramon. It was not very toddler friendly. They were pretty much too small for everything. Then we just took them to a small park to get them exercised and tired out.
Yesterday was a day that we spent at the ILs. Good night. We had Indian food. Do you know how long I have been craving chicken tikka masala? A long time.
I finished reading the book club book already. It was pretty good finally! It took me about 100 pages in to really get into the book. I think I was distracted while reading it. It was This Book Will Save Your Life by A.M Homes. Good stuff. I also started a new book today. Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen. So far so good.
Anything else, no I don't think so. That's pretty much all.
