It's Election Day! How was your voting experience?
There were no lines where I went to vote. I was kind of amazed. It was nice though and the kiddos were excited about the whole process. We all got stickers. Now to sit and watch the returns...

What three qualities do you look for in a partner?
Submitted by Tenor BobThere is no way I can sum it up in 3 qualities. There were so many more than 3 that attracted me to my husband. He was nice, smart, honest, cute, great eyes, sweet smile, the potential to be a very good father, potential to be a very good provider, loved me unconditionally and treated me like a princess.
Nope, can't do only three...
What are you most looking forward to in August?
Three of my very good friends have b-days in August. JC, Glenn and Caryn. My father's birthday is in August. AND THEN... of course, my babies (not babies) birthday is on August 31st. I can't believe that they are going to be 4 years old! Amazing!
How and when do you reward yourself?
Submitted by Rainbird.
I think everyday that I wake up I deserve a reward. It could be anything. It can be flavored creamer in my coffee or a special brewed tea. But the big rewards come like maybe once a year where I feed my addiction to handbags. The handbag I just bought should take it into 2010. :)
The best rewards are the hugs and kisses from the littlest people in my house. My kiddos... That's when I know that I must have done something right.

I'm going to do this one, just not right now...
Today I had a wonderful day with my kiddos. We went to the park and played for a long time, just enjoying the heat and each others company. They played in the water play section, squealing in excitement and smiling from ear to ear. It was just an incredible mid-late morning. We came home, we ate lunch and then I put them down for a nap. I went to my computer and opened up my browser. Then I read: "Tim Russert, 58, Dies after Collapsing"
I had to read it again and then read the story. I was in shock. I couldn't believe it. Tim Russert was someone I trusted to give me an unbiased opinion of politics. I respected his observations and felt that he was fair and impartial. I enjoyed watching his enthusiasm over this year's presidential election. He was so excited about the historical significance of the primaries and the general election to come. He is gone now... Just like that.
His death today made me think of my Pop. I guess because there were a couple of similarities. My Pop was only 58 when he died and he died of a massive heart attack. Of course, my Pop died on the table after open heart surgery but a heart attack nonetheless.
A couple of years ago Tim Russert's book, Wisdom of Our Fathers came out and I remember reading a couple of the letters and lessons and thinking, "Wow, I really miss my Pop." I always miss my Pop. A day doesn't go by that I don't think about something or see his picture and wonder a little. One thing that really caught my attention and won my admiration of Mr. Russert was how much he loved his own father and how much he adored his son.
I can't help but feel sad for his son. Knowing how much Mr. Russert loved him and knowing how much it hurts to lose someone who loves you that much. I just miss my Pop. I wonder if he were here today if he would be saddened by the loss of this journalist. If he would have been as excited about the upcoming election and I wonder who he would have supported in the primaries. I wish I could have talked it over with him and discussed our political opinions in an adult way, not just a kid challenging authority. I miss my Pop so much right now.
Who helped make you the cool person you are today?
Submitted by Amy - Sister Brown Hair Surprise.
ME ME ME! I made myself cool! I jest. Jeez, people hate this question. They're all hatin' on a question that should really make them feel good about themselves. I have enough self-esteem to know that I am still a cool person, even though I am a married woman with kiddos now. So who helped make me cool, my mom - she taught me how to be a good mother and a good person and I think being good is cool... My sister because she taught me tolerance. Tolerance is cool. Sylvia because she taught me about music and food and everything else... I think the music I listen to is cool so there.... Being cool doesn't mean that you are following every single trend and you have the biggest and best, it just means that you are satisfied with the person you are and the person that you have become. Sometimes we have help in becoming the person we are today, that's all I was asking the question for... who do you want to acknowledge for helping you be the person you are today.
