Do you know someone who’s struggled with addiction? How did it affect your relationship with them?
Sponsored by MTV's "Gone Too Far." Tune into the series premiere this Monday at 10 p.m. EST.
Struggling still with addiction is my brother. I wish that there was a switch that could make him realize that he's loved and that he doesn't need drugs to make him feel fulfilled or satisfied.... I love him unconditionally though and I would still have his back no matter what... Did it change my relationship with him? Since I live a few states away I don't see him very often but when I do see him I feel like it might be the last time I see him alive. In that way, yes, the addiction has made me miss him even though he's still alive.
I still can't wrap my head around the fact that Michael Jackson has died. He was a part of my childhood. A very large part of my childhood I should say and he's been a part of my kids music experience. They LOVE the Jackson 5 and sing Billie Jean on a regular basis.
Michael Jackson had a troubled life, this is true. But he was also an amazing talent and had a gift that he shared because he believed it was God-given and he had to share it. I'm grateful he felt that way. I enjoyed his gift of music and dance.
I will never forget sitting in anticipation at our house with popcorn and sodas waiting for the Thriller video to come out. We sat there ready for anything and not expecting what we saw! Zombies dancing! Holy buckets! It was a fantastic night!
MJ may had his skeletons and his demons but I think now is not the time to discuss them. Now is the time to talk about his contribution to music and to dance, to the world in general. I believe that despite of the accusations and what not, that he genuinely cared about people and about children. He gave of himself so greatly, both financially and physically, that this should not be forgotten. All his good deeds should be remembered and honored.
I miss voxing it up with y'all. I have time now. Guess what I did yesterday? If you guessed broke my ankle while walking down stairs and stepping on a small little lelli kelly shoe you would be RIGHT!
off to do the QotD
Not that this would ever happen, but let's say you somehow landed yourself in jail. Who would you phone with your one call?
Uh, the husb! I'd be all, "HURRY UP! GET ME OUTTA OZ!"
